I’d like to have a conversation with the voice in your head. You know the one – the belittling, nasty one.
So if you don’t mind stepping aside for a moment; it’s just between us…
~~
Hey voice! Yeah, over here. It’s Alexis. Pay attention, because I’ve got some words for you.
Here’s the deal – every day I send uplifting, confidence-boosting messages to our friend here and yet you keep chiming in.
What is your problem?!?
They’re too nice to say this, so I’ll be blunt: You. Aren’t. Welcome. Anymore.
I get that you’ve had the run of the roost for awhile now. I get that you think your opinion matters.
But it doesn’t.
You’re just a washed up hold over from a time that’s LONG been past.
They don’t need you anymore.
No one needs you.
You babble on about what you can’t and shouldn’t do. Well guess what, we’re over it!
We outgrew you eons ago but yet you keep coming back like that ex we have a weak spot for.
You know what happens to that ex in the end? They look pathetic and we move on feeling great about ourselves.
Which is what’s happening right here and now. Consider this your Dear John letter.
We’re done with you.
The real truth can’t be tamped down by you any longer. We know how powerful we are. We know how beautiful we are – inside and out. We know what we’re capable of and we know all your tricks to try to stop us from going for it.
But we’re not listening anymore.
It’s our time.
To own our dreams.
To take responsibility for our lives.
To get what we know we deserve and confirm that worthiness with every thought.
And your constant negative chatter isn’t helping.
Honestly, it just drags us down. You’re like a black hole of self-confidence and no one likes to be around that kind of negative drain.
You knew it was just a matter of time until we figured out your game.
So clock’s ticking, buddy. Time to go.
Feel free to take a bow on the way out for all the supposedly “horrible” and “risky” things you saved us from attempting in the past. Funny how those same things now look like regrets we wish we’d tried…
Thanks for holding us back and keeping us playing small. (That’s sarcasm in case you couldn’t tell through your life-sucking filter).
It’s time for us to go big. And we’re ready.
~~~
Okay, you can come back now.
I just had some choice words with your inner a-hole, so don’t be surprised if you hear a lot of whining and whinging later.
These types of voices don’t like to leave quietly.
The best thing you can do is immediately fill the gap so there’s no wiggle room for it to get back in.
Here are some affirmations to play on mental repeat for the rest of the day:
- I am healthy, wealthy, happy, and whole.
- I am enough.
- All is well.
- Everything is always working out for me.
If you want an extra boost, join my friend Marie’s free 21-day energy clearing. She’ll tidy up all the crumbs the voice left behind. You can join here (it’s free!): goo.gl/Dsspnm
Be good to yourself today, love.
Be free. Be brave. Be YOU!
Love,
Alexis
