If we’re being honest, we both know that action is key to achieving your dreams. But sometimes, it’s soooo hard to get moving.

You’re smart and committed and know what you need to do, but it feels like there’s this heavy blanket keeping you from getting started.

Many of us confuse that as a sign we shouldn’t take action, but that’s not what’s happening at all.

Instead, it’s resistance rearing it’s head. Today I want to share with you a few tips about what resistance is and how it works, so that you can throw off it’s weight and start taking steps towards your dreams.

Here’s the first thing to know:

1. Resistance is normal.

The way the mind works is pretty cool. Basically, we’re all connected to something larger than ourselves. Let’s call this universal consciousness. But because we’re in individual bodies, we’ve also got individual consciousness.

As an individual, we like to think we’re running the show – it helps us feel safe and in control of our boundaries and decisions. But many of us also desperately long to be part of something bigger – to know our lives have more meaning and depth than this individual expression.

The trouble with resistance comes when we start to move towards embracing our universal consciousness and living it through our individual selves. The little you – the one that thinks it’s separate and in charge – feels threatened because it’s spent a lifetime building carefully placed walls around what is you and what isn’t.

So when you start taking action towards your purpose and dismantling those walls, it feels threatened and puts up a fight with every tool it has.

Which brings us to #2.

2. Resistance is strong.

Resistance has the voice of the encyclopedia, your care-givers, your teachers, and every other “older-and-wiser” person you’ve ever known. It IS the voice of reason.

It says – “I am logical, I am safe, I am the truth. Look around you at reality – this is clearly the way life works”.

It uses facts, logic, calculation, pro/con lists, and examples from well-meaning acquaintances who tried and failed.

But when resistance points out all the reasons you should doubt and all the ways it’s possible for things to go wrong, it’s speaking only of IT’S truth = that it’s afraid of being vulnerable and hurt.

Your deeper self – the part of you that connects with all that is and will be – knows better.

You know that you’re inherently safe when you’re living in alignment with your purpose. You know you’re meant to leap and the net will appear.

Which brings us to the final point.

3. Resistance doesn’t stop but it can be your ally.

No matter how far along the path of living your dreams you go, resistance will keep popping up to make sure you stay small, hold back, and stay safe. Not because there’s something wrong with you, but because it’s job is to represent the individual.

The more you move into your universal connection with others – helping, serving, supporting – the less resistance knows what to do.

Which is why resistance is a GOOD sign.

It helps you know when you’re on the right track.

But I’ll be honest – this puts the burden on you to do two things:

  • Know your purpose and when you’re moving into alignment with it.
  • Know the difference between your intuition and resistance.

Neither of those are small feats, but when you tap into your feelings – your inner guidance system – you’ll be able to navigate your way forward. More on that to come…

For now, know that if you’re second-guessing, that doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. You might be closer to your purpose than you think.

Over the next few weeks, I’m offering a step-by-step training to walk you through the system to get clear on your purpose and then bring it to life through your daily actions or business.

If you’re feeling confused about what you’re meant to do, how to bring your best into the world, or what business to start, then this is for you.

It’s totally free. But you’ve got to be on the list to get all the details. Plus there’s something REALLY BIG coming February 14.

Be free. Be brave. Be YOU!
