what-if-just-for-today-being-you-was-enough_

A few weeks ago, I shared the following words with a woman who was struggling to see her own brilliance. Today, I want to share them with you:

“The strength, power, and beauty of you is unmistakeable. You can hold it for you. It may shine onto others, but it is always yours. Just for you. You deserve you.”

Because so many of us get caught up in trying to fulfill someone else’s expectations – real or imagined.

Whether it’s the voice of a parent in your head, an obtuse boss, or the partner you wish would love you more, when you seek validation outside of yourself, you set yourself up for major disappointment.

You feel like you are the problem – and if only you were richer, smarter, taller, funnier, more patient – you’d be more loved.

Now that doesn’t mean you can’t learn. That doesn’t mean you don’t compromise and grow.

But you have to value what you bring to the table first in order to appreciate how you can best make magic with others.

The key is to be you for your own sake.

Do what you love because you love it. Spend your time in ways that make you happy. Laugh because you want to.

Because…

“The strength, power, and beauty of you is unmistakeable. You can hold it for you. It may shine onto others, but it is always yours. Just for you. You deserve you.”

Be free. Be brave. Be YOU!

Love,
Alexis
